About Scary Rich 3

The third and final part (for now) of Rival Gaming’s Scary Rich trilogy and franchise is the simply named Scary Rich 3. This slot does not incorporate aspects of the previous two slot machines (one based on monsters, the other based on horror) to produce a third game. Instead, Rival Gaming have gone down the “camera horror” route with the theme of this game, and it fails miserably because of it. There is nothing remotely scary, creepy, or horror-themed about this poor effort, which really sullies the good name of the Scary Rich franchise.

Scary Rich 3 cannot really compete with the other two slots in terms of features, either. The game offers a larger 50-line reel set, and wagers can range from a floor of just 0.01 per line per spin, up to 62.50 per spin, but the graphics and features of the game leave a lot to be desired. The non-progressive jackpot of 2,500 coins is also 7,500 coins short of the prize we’re used to seeing in the slot’s two predecessors.

Special Features

Scary Rich 3 disappoints in all areas (save for the number of lines), and nowhere is that more evident than in the non-progressive jackpot department. A pithily 2,500 coins just doesn’t cut the mustard, and can only be won when 5 wild hatchet symbols appear on a payline.

Wild symbols take the shape of a poorly designed 3D werewolf. These symbols can substitute for all other icons (barring scatters) and offer 2x, 5x, and 10x multipliers when 2, 3 or 4 of them appear in winning combinations on the reels.

Scatters appear as mad scientist symbols. When 3 or more of these symbols appear on the reels of the game, the player will land free spins. Players will start the bonus with 6, 66, or 666 free spins when 3, 4 or 5 such symbols appear on the reels.

Bonus rounds

Whilst it is certainly appealing to start the bonus with 666 free spins, the chances of it happening are remote – very remote. Not only that, the other features in the bonus are poor at best. Scary Rich 3’s free spin feature can see wilds expanding to occupy whole reels. Players will note that the lovely multipliers that they had with wild wins in the base game are not carried over to the free spins feature. This is incredibly disappointing.
