Originally developed by Ash Gaming (and now owned by Playtech), Heart of the Frontier is a Wild West-themed slot, and a rather basic one at that. It incorporates elements of gambling and Frontier lifestyle into its theme and the symbols which appear on the reels of the game kind of symbolise that. Heart of the Frontier is very basic nowadays (it was cutting edge when it was launched) but it can still provide a few thrills. All 20 paylines are fixed into place, but players are at liberty to alter the value of their total bets from 0.20 per spin up to a capped maximum stake of 200.00 per spin. It is worth pointing out that since Playtech took over this game, the slot has had a radical makeover, with new graphics replacing the original ones, although the old and battered look is still present. Another set of wilds appear in this game, too. These bandits are gun-toting ladies and expanding wilds, to boot. They can appear anywhere on the reels and substitute for all other icons in the game. Whenever a bandit appears, they will trigger a re-spin and walk one reel to the left until eventually, they disappear from the reels.
Sheriff icons are scatters (they look very similar to bandit wilds) and when they appear, they can expand and move one reel to the right on each spin. Bonus Feature
In the Showdown Free Spins bonus, players will note that all sheriff and bandit icons will lock into place.
