About Book of Maya

You can find dozens of book-style slots out there on the net, and Novomatic was one of the first developers to produce the genre with their Book of Ra slot. Book of Maya is another one of theirs. However, this has been far less successful than its big-name counterpart. The game is played over five reels and ten lines and features stakes that range from 0.10 up to 40.00 a spin. Like most other book slots, it has a non-progressive jackpot that is capped at 5,000x a bet and is a highly volatile slot release. You don’t get much for your money when it comes to the game’s theme, with the Mayan aspect watered down in favour of an explorer-style game. Book of Maya is, therefore, a touch crude when it comes to the quality of its graphics.

Special Features

Book of Maya may be primitive in virtually all aspects, but it has the same array of features you can expect to see in other book slots. Chief amongst these features is a scatter wild. Naturally, that symbol appears as the titular Book of Maya and not the Indiana Jones rip-off character, which makes up a top paying symbol instead.

The Book of Maya scatter wild takes on the function of both those symbols. It can substitute for all of Book of Maya’s standard paying symbols, and it can trigger the game’s single bonus round – a free spin mode.
