About Jacks or Better
GamesOS’ Jacks or Better game may have a bit of audio commentary, but it is still a plain old Jacks or Better video poker game. Graphically, it may have the edge on some of the other games on the market, but that’s hardly a reason to start celebrating. What this Jacks or Better game does have, is a slightly more luxurious set of menus than other games.
How to play
To begin with, you need to place a bet. After that, the game will deal you a total of 5 cards. From those cards, you must decide which you wish to keep in your hand, and which you don’t. New cards will then replace those you do not wish to keep.
Players will have then formed their second poker hand. It is this hand which determines whether or not you have won anything from the paytable. You don’t have to worry about dealers or players stealing the game, since there are none. It really is down to you (and the deck) as to whether you win or not.
Wagering and prizes
In Jacks or Better players can choose to bet coins which range from 0.10 up to 1.00 in size. In fact, as many as 5 can be wagered per hand. This will see you total bet rise from a base minimum of 0.10 per hand, up to a ceiling bet of no more than 5.00 in total.
Players will be able to win anything from 1 to 5 coins for the minimum paying hand (Jacks or Better), or they can pocket mid-sized wins for Two Pairs, a Three of a Kind, Straights, and Flushes, a Full House, a Four of a Kind, Straight Flushes, or Royal Flushes. The latter is worth as much as 4,000 coins if you bet on the maximum stake.
Final thoughts
So, there we have it. Jacks or Better is a primitive video poker game, and one which all newbies can get to grips with quite quickly. It is not remotely challenging, and sometimes that is the best thing for all video poker players.
